Did he really cut up a split window Bug like that? I thought those were worth serious coin?

That looks nice. Here’s my friend’s fast beetle. It’s best result in street configuration was ET 9.803sec/137.8mph. It’s street legal but only barely.

It could be an original split window. But it’s hard to know because the parts can be swapped. In Finland it was really common to modify split window and oval models to have a newer big rear window. It looked more modern that way. And having a new car made you look more wealthy and successful.
The licence plate (under the fake one) looks pretty Finnish to me so I have to keep my eyes open if manage to see it some day.
